>>568883OP, I currently own a leatherman supertool 300, and leatherman OHT. Here are my opinions on them.
Supertool 300 (carried for 4 years)
I bought this because I had a wave break on me when doing run of the mill work with it. And I wanted something that wouldnt break.
Pros:
>Heavy duty, Im not afraid any of the tools will break. (Ive had a tool on a wave snap in half on me)Cons:
>Too heavy to carry in anything other than a holder or cargo pocket>position of outer knives not convenient.OHT (Just bought this 2 weeks ago)
I bought this because I havle always wanted to try one of these out the front type multitools, and was at first waiting for leatherman to come out with one, and then was waiting for a good deal on it (I know, its been out for almost 2-3 years). Finally found a good deal at my local sporting store for half off.
Pros:
>Lighter than supertool>Feels sturdier than gerber variant>Tools are in proper position on outside unlike the wave or supertool.>Spring assisted pliers are very convenient Cons:
>A bit unbalanced>Flicking the pliers out one handed takes some practice>Locking mechanism for tools seem flimsy and too thin. (Although I am spoiled by my supertool. I have not had any problems as of yet.)
