Communication in Europe shouldn't be a problem. Almost everybody knows some basic English, and if you end up in some really backwards village you can always rely on your hands and feet to explain shit for you.

I'd try to get lots of maps, best in form of a book.

You'll pass villages constantly so food, gas etc shouldn't be a problem.

I guess you'll have to be wildcamping most of the time. Maybe a hotel room every few weeks.

You can basically walk on small streets most of the time for easiest walking.

I think the hardest part on such a journey is to keep at it. I'm sure you'd often get to a point where you ask yourself why the hell you're doing this.
