Depends mainly on where you are and how innawoods smart/resourceful you are. I'm sure some sc/out/s could get by with nothing more than a good knife; it's definitely possible if you have the knowledge and experience to know what you're doing.
For me, personally, I would never bring anything less than:
>Multitool with a good main bladeRely on for nearly everything, including making other primitive tools to use
>Fire starterSome folks can make fire without bringing tools along, but I am not one of them... Probably could if I wanted to but I lack the patience.
>Wire, paracord, fishing line and hooksIf I'm not bringing any food along, I'd bring the tools to get the job done. This would cover basic fishing and trapping. Of course, you could leave these at home and live off of vegetation and bugs alone (and I'm sure some sc/out/s could even find a way to make use of natural resources to catch some prey) but that's not for me.
>Tarp and emergency blanketIt's possible to make your own shelter but that takes time and energy, both of which are precious resources. I'd never leave civilization without at least a very basic pack-and-go shelter.
>First aid kitI'm prone to accidents so I know my way around these and would never go innawoods without one
As for everything else you mentioned:
>Map/compassSun, stars, etc work just fine.
>Sunglasses/sunscreenNot entirely necessary. Know how to cover your body correctly to keep sun out/distribute heat effectively
>Food/waterIf you know what you're doing you can find these in your environment without too much hassle
>Extra clothesBe smart and efficient with the ones you've got on. You don't need so much extra weight.
>FlashlightFire can be made to be portable, too. Personally I don't really do much trekking at night.
That being said, listen to this guy
