How old are you and what is the biggest mountain/hill/peak you've summitted?

I myself am 19 and the highest I've climbed is Ben Nevis, which is the highest in the whole of Scotland (and Britain for that fact) which is where I'm from.

Snowdon, Wales, 1,085m. Did it on Wednesday and it was my first taste of mountain walking. I even got a little certificate at the top as a reward to myself (except that it says "anon has climbed the three highest peaks in the UK").

Next is Scafell Pike, then Ben Nevis so I can finally put my name on that certificate and not feel guilty.

OP, how was Ben Nevis? Were there parts that were steep as fuck or was it gentle the whole way up? Hope you had fun, by the way.

Absolutely dwarfs anything round these parts haha, Nevis is stupidly easy but which makes it even less impressive. Hardest I'v climbed is Knights peak, however, thats barely 1000m. Would love to go over to the States and even Canada to do some walks though.

Nice one! Really the only point in doing Nevis is to say that you've climbed the highest peak in the UK because in terms of the walk it isn't challenging in the slightest. For it being a big tourist spot the trail was real busy the whole time I was there and it's just reaaaaal smooth and gentle pretty much the full way up. Still definitely good to be able to say you've done it but in all honesty, it isn't that great a walk.

Thanks! I'm gonna do Nevis regardless, but Snowdon hurt like a bitch in some parts where, without warning, it basically turned into a rocky 50-degree landslide. Wasn't expecting it at all but it was more fun than watching sheep eat grass, as we did for the first half of the route.

I just wanna be able to put my name on that certificate. I won't rest until I am no longer a fraud to the UK mountain walking community.

Climbed Mt Shirouma located in the Japanese Hida Mountains a couple of weeks ago.2932m (9619ft). Easily the most beautiful mountain range I have been to so far and am going back in a few days.

23 , summited Uhuru peak on Kilimanjaro 19,341 ft if I recall correctly. Our group Was the last up the western breach in 05 when the rockslide happened and killed some climbers we made camp with the night b4.

Another Kili summitter here. Went up the standard whiskey route. Mostly a non technical hike but the low oxygen did screw with my brain a few times. Beyond that, I've been to 5000m on Cotopaxi but didn't summit. Also been to the refuge on Cayambe at 4600m. We ended up in a blizzard with white out conditions which was kind of neat given that it's on the equator. How many people can say they've been in a snowstorm on the equator?

I've climbed a bunch of mountains in yosemite which were around 12,000 feet. Don't remember the names. No trails go up them. Most aren't that hard, the last few miles are just really steep boulder scrambles which take a long time to safely navigate and you gain a ton of elevation. Very few people bother to go up most mountains which don't have trails, even if the peak is only a few miles from a trail.
Merced peak was one of them. That's 11,xxx. Beautiful.

6,288 ft on Mt Washington. Wanna climb higher, but haven't had the time to travel further out of my area to do so- Washington is the highest peak in the Northeast US.

Fifth highest peak of North America

Summited Popocatépetl , Mexico .

On New Years Eve , 1987 .

At 17,802 feet it is the second highest peak in Mexico, after Orizaba at 18,491 feet .

In 1984 , got to 17, 200 feet on Orizaba on Christmas Day .
Climbing partner got altitude sickness .
Went down to Vera Cruz to party .

Great Times !

Popo is closed for climbing I think .
Has been smoking and erupting since '94 - 95"

Lapham peak like 3 weeks ago.
Highest point in Waukesha county Wisconsin.
I live a sad, low altitude life.
It's just a fucking hill I had to walk like 30 feet from my car to the observation tower.
Honestly I can't remember being at a higher peak but I'm sure I did something in boy scouts

it also happens to be one of the easier 4000 footers, and did I mention that both trains and cars go up it :(
there are some nice loops around mt lafayette, similar area but way nicer and you don't have crowded ass gift shops on top.
man, so many nice mountains in that area. the heights can be deceiving - a lot of those 4000 footers are serious hikes.

highest here is mount baldy peak, at 10,069 feet. training to do mount whitney soon hopefully. gonna do San Jacinto peak soon, which is over near Palm Springs, CA. apparently not a super strenuous hike like Baldy, which has constant elevation with no flat points, however, the whole hike is above 8,000 feet, which i'd like to get used to, in terms of getting used to the high altitude

I did Baldy last January during a blizzard. I didn't have any specific gear, so did it in boots and like 4 layers. Temperature was near 0F at the summit and couldn't see shit.

But it was fun.
