What does /out/ use as mosquito and tick repellent? There has been a lot of lyme disease going around in the US so it's probably a good idea to start wearing some of the stuff.

I like this Off Sportsman. It's in a small pump spray bottle. It's small enough to fit in your front pocket, or just not take up a ton of space in my pack. I did carry an aerosol can, but always worried it would get pressed and spray all in my bag, not as big a problem with this small pump bottle.

Something liken 98% deet. I can use it, and not need a bug net for my hammock.

My strategy is a three-fold plan of defense. Whenever not /out/, bathe with the tea tree soap. Before going /out/ douse the gear and clothing with permethrin (lasts for 6 weeks.) Before setting off on the trail, hit the exposed body parts with picaridin.
