>>577102The ignorance in this post cringe-worthy. You sound like someone whose knowledge of American Indians only stems from TV and movies.
>People choose to remember them in a good light for reasons beyond me.And plenty of people, like yourself, like to shit on them for poor reasons. Looking at Indians as being either violent savages or noble savages is completely moronic.
Their lifestyles suited the environments they lived in just fine. In most cases, tribes developed land and hunted game just enough so they didn't completely exhaust their resources. Other times they weren't so fortunate.
>They still killed and murdered. Our war with them was justified.Non-Indians killed too. The "war" with Indians was nothing more than a land grab by the U.S. If you think otherwise you're a moron. The U.S. itself explicitly promised land rights time and again to Indians in treaties, only to completely ignore them when that land became desirable.
In the grand scheme of things, Indians did jack shit to colonists and Americans. You choose to remember a few raids and retaliatory attacks instead of just accepting the fact that the U.S. fucked the Indians over because of land, which has arguably gone to shit under the U.S. government.
Indians using the land as needed =/= not making good use of it.
