>>579812>ATor this. Yes, I can resupply every 3-7 days, but I need a storm proof tent, real rain gear and a lot of other stuff that comes in handy when you are caught by an arctic storm above tree line couple days walk away from help. That plus I'm 6'7 so yeah.
For shorter 3 days trip with good weather forecast I'm around 22lbs and use a 40l Deuter.
I also once made a week+ is south central France where the conditions are much different, used a nice little ul shelter and a borrowed üla pack and left most of the survival gear (flare, comms, extra maps, spare set of warm clothes, heavy outher shell, heavy sleeping bag) at home.
Won't do that north of the polar circle, not when I'm solo, I need my safety margin to feel comfortable. That way you get a dry loadout of around 30-35 lbs, and in that case, better go for a pack with good frame (~5lbs) and tada, you are hauling 40+lbs with supplies.
