I've actually heard a lot of good things about Costco gear. Merino wool socks, cheap carbon trekking poles, High Sierra packs. Not high-end but pretty good value if you're starting out.

Yah It depends. High sierra makes pretty decent packs. OP dont buy that 3rd rate bag. If you want a tacticool bag just go do a google search. Ill name some brands off for you.

There are way more companies, but I dont realy recommend tactical bags for /out/. Not unless you are dead set on wanting one, because there are plenty reason to get one. Its just technical bags are way comfier for hiking and trail blazin.
