I want to set out and live off the land in the UK, the only problem is that I live in a urban/suburban area with only plots of wildland and natural parks to camp in, and I don't know what sort of food I could look for. There are semi remote areas of country side relatively nearby that I plan to set up a camp site and little farming area that I can grow crops on, but that takes a little bit of set up time and I don't want to have to be going to the shop for food in the meantime.

The only thing I can think of to eat that grows naturally in these kind of areas is psylocybin mushrooms, and it is also the peak season for them in the UK at the moment, but I don't think it's realistic to A) rely on toadstools to sustain a fully grown male's entire diet, and B) trip 24 hours a day while trying to set up a farm.

Any advice on how to feed yourself off the land in the English sort-of-countryside? I'm thinking traps, edible berries or roots, birds/eggs ect.
