Anyone on here a skier? I am, and I cant wait for winter. I do hope we have good snow this year though. Last year was shit.

Fuq yes, I went to Jay Peak all of the last three years and It's amazing. Just dip off the trail anywhere and be granted with beautiful 3 ft pow. My skis are a bit short but they still float ok.

Also good racing season

You guys should check out the snow in eastern US, totally different texture and it's so beautiful around Vermont and Maine

And if you want a free season pass, go Ski Patrol. Pretty easy to get into if you're a decent skier, you just need time and some good equipment and you'll have a season ticket and a sense of accomplishment like no other

I moved here from the midwest, and am probably more of an oldfag than most on 4chan, so my work ethic is a little different than the typical stoner snowboarder 20something.

My experience is that most real locals, not the transient ski town types have a pretty good work ethic.

It might be a generational thing.

I'm 37 myself. We've had problems with plumbers, electricians, landlords, and hired day labor. Shit man, I can't even get my chainsaw fixed at ACE because they are "not interested" in fixing it. It needs a new pull cord that's it! The general contractor we hired for some simple construction thought we were out of town and he decided to use our rental space as his personal woodworking shop! He moved in all his equipment and wood thinking he was going to use our space as his own WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION.
These were not young people or transient ski bums.

The legal system here is FUCKED as well.

I guess I've been lucky to have had only a couple of negative experiences with the workforce since I've been here. There are lazy/incompetent people everywhere.

I'm with you on the local legal system. Going to be an interesting read when/if they release the report on the police department investigation.

There's less than 10 people in town who have the same job as me, so I rather not share on an anonymous Cambodian finger painting symposium.

This a cool place to live, though. Hopefully you'll stay long enough to experience a 450" snow year. Fucking awesome.

Our first year there was about 5' of snow most of the winter. And it was the year for the Winter Olympics. And the Broncos went to the Super Bowl. At one point I actually went into the backyard and asked, "Colorado, are you trying to seduce me?".
It wasn't my decision to move here, and I had lived my entire life in Kentucky. So I was iffy about the move to say the least.
