>>587060I'm a guy from a small rural Island, not a city kid. But I'd still guess at the time I fitted a certain profile the cops were interested in ( white hippy looking guy in his 20s) or they were just bored.
The last time I got stopped and searched I was clearly coming home from being out fishing on the shore, hobbling up the beach trying to juggle an armful of rods, tripod, tackle bag and my walking stick to get back to my car. I dunno what the fuck trouble they thought I could have been getting up to by myself at 3am alone on the seashore ?
The time before that I was sitting carving a spoon at one of the neolithic tombs we have on my island. One copper tried to be a dick and ended up taking the tip of his thumb off down to the nail fucking around trying to show his colleague that my ESEE Izula was a 'quick draw combat knife' it was funny as fuck, he bled all over the place and had to give my knife back.
Since I hit around 30, and now have to walk with a stick
>>587743 I don't even get a second look. I've pushed my luck a couple of times and flipped a pocket knife out to cut up lunch whist out a few times and made a point of leaving it in view- it's been seen and so have I but nope, it seems I'm too old/don't fit the profile/not crazy looking enough anymore.
I'm a big advocate of knife carry here in the UK not because of 'muh freedumz' but because I genuinely find one useful in my daily comings and goings. Knives ( and people who carry them) have had a fuckton of bad press in the UK over the past 20 years or so, and I feel it's just to give scary tabloid headlines or easy, and seemingly impressive police statistics
