you buncha morans... like anon said above, the first "fireplace" is strictly a kiln for firing clay. The other fireplace is NOT a heated bed, it's an under floor thermal mass radiant heater. He can build maybe one fire a day, the heat will build up in and be stored in the stones, then slowly radiated into the dwelling. Very efficient and without the hot / cold spikes of a conventional fireplace.

Could have used a large stick and some cordage as a way to lay the cap tiles from the outside. Or just built some scaffolding with cordage and logs.

Far north Queensland. we dont' get 4 seasons like the rest of australia. we get a wet season on the summer months when the humidity is 100%, its around 40 degrees celcius and it rains heavily and almost every day

and the dry when it dosnt rain as much and it sits around 25 - 30 degrees celcius most days.

we dont get snow and the lowest it got this year was about 11 degrees at night.
