Yaesu's are great radios... been packing an FT60 with me for the past 7 or 8 years now, things are finally starting to fail (pads on the PCB the speaker connect to, external mic connection's loose).
I take care of my gear, but I don't baby it. No regrets with the FT60. Or the 8800 in my truck.
Really can't go wrong with a name-brand rig anymore - Kenwood, Icom, Motorola, Yaesu/Vertex, Tait... they're all pretty good.
Needed a better replacement for the FT60, went MotoTRBO DMR. Incredible radio..... get what you pay for.
Baofengs are cheap. They're great for a cheap cost-of-entry into the hobby, but it's a cheap radio. I have one, mostly to play around with. Toss it in my pack as an extra/spare if someone in the crew needs a VHF/UHF analog rig, but it really doesn't see much use.
