I just went camping for a week. Luckily about 7 km away from my campsite there was a gas station I could get water at, but I had to spend 1.5 hours every morning mountain biking the trip there and back to fill up my water bottles.

What are the alternatives? I was hesitant to boil water because the only water source close to me was a murky pond.
