Myself and three other people are planning on an extended back packing trip through uninhabited forests of western Canada and north America. We do not necessarily want to come back to society if we can sustainably live off grid, traveling on foot and camping. What are some survival essentials We should have? What would you take with you?
Here are a few things I have on my list:
Crossbow
Slingshot
Knives
Tents/sleeping bags/bedrolls/hammocks
water filters/distillers
solar cooker
firestarter
Cord/rope/zipties
First aid gear
Cookware and utensils
Bug repellent, netting
Snares for small game
Funnel traps are pretty great for fish
Salt
Vitamins and dried food
Extra clothes/cold weather gear
What else would you bring?
I know it's probably a retarded idea but humor me
Also, we were considering bringing dogs, is this a good idea
