The metal used in the body panels is tougher, the cars themselves are cheaper because of the age, Dualies are too wide for off roadin (most big trucks are anyways) and you'll get better mileage out of a 250, or even 150 engine so you can go further for less.
(Holds true for diesel options in each range, but I don't advocate diesel. If you run dry in the woods you'll need to flush the system. I know I know, big IF, but it's still something to consider)
