from my understanding after WW2 cattails usefulness once fell again. but indeed the white puffy seeds where used in pilots clothing. and life vest.
I'm going to make a blanket out of it [it's actually very compressible.] and a simple jacket with wind breaker with it too. for the main fabric I've not yet decided what I want to do. I would like to keep to natural materials but I can't use any sort of wool because one of my cats are highly allergic to it.
Besides sheep's wool, you guys should get a fetish over alpaca wool... its far better then sheep in almost every way.
and if you truly want a super warm g0d-tier blanket... rabbit pelts sewn together.
