Impressive, but what is it good for? You have to pick up all the chips before you can build there. Wouldn't a chainsaw be better suited since you can just haul away the logs?

These are used typically in wildland fire applications. They basically just fuck up the tree to build line and/or remove ladder fuels. They are faster and safer than chainsawing the tree down and make a less dangerous fuel.

LOL actually it doesn't. Most of the tree is below ground and it will send up sprouts when the next growing season comes.

I do thinning for the AK government and private forest products companies. When they specify no regrowth we treat the stumps with Tordon or similar.
