>>606990Mad rock 50 dollar shoes...... get em.
Hyper aggressive shoes like OPs will just give you foot cramps.
Until you are a comfortable and competent climber, no shoes are going to help you above a basic climbing shoe.
I have a problem when getting into new hobbies, a mentality that says "Just get good stuff and then you won't have to replace it when you eventually don't suck" Then, you buy the nice, or high end, or aggressive, or expert level kinda gear, trash it while you try to figure out how it works while having no idea how to use it properly and care for it, have a much more difficult time learning the basics because of it, and then realize that you screwed yourself into having a harder time, ruined your expensive stuff and now have to replace it anyways.
>Climbing Bought a goddamn alpine climbing rope for a starter.........
>Rafting Got a spiffy rescue vest with an extra quick release strap. Reality is that now I just fumble with an extra strap and worry about losing the rescue ring.....
Anywho, that's my rant. Take from it what you will, and pursue climbing with a vigor, you'll never look back. (Also beware the glass ceiling! Don't get stuck in an "I can only" mentality, try to progress your climbing career as far as possible, set your sights on trad and alpine climbing as a goal!)
