>>607327If your country has wilderness, it has a resource that can be turned into currency. Dunno what sort, could be fish, mushrooms, slate for construction, gotta be something.
Usual day = wake up, rekindle fire, boil drinking water, heat up some fish or snake or whatever I have from the day before, go out and find food which I constantly keep at a 2-4 day level, once I have that I get to whatever project I have going on. Sometimes it's mining, other times it's building some kind of remote proof that I exist like a gigantic throne shrine made of rocks and bones(umad cairn tippers?). I've built some crazy-ass shit in the middle of nowhere. At the beginning of a trip I'll use the time to make my shelter nice and build stuff like a bow and 3-4 arrows, fish traps or bird traps. Put up bells on fishing line in a wide circle around the camp to warn me if anything approaches, build a really nice and safe firepit and comfy stone chair.
Depends on the resource and the work involved for how much I work a day. Shorter on heavy labor as it requires more food-water gathering, but on crystals/corundum I'll work allll fucking day for weeks and be sad when I feel the need to go. Favorite spots are silly stuffed with crystals/gems.
As for essential, if I had to bring one thing it would be a pot for boiling water. Second to that a water container for storing boiled water, third a blanket, fourth fishing line > para cord. Past that I don't really need anything, as I can start fires with a hand drill and am decent with knapping. Non-essential stuff I bring would be a folding saw, a pack of bic lighters, a folding shovel, a tarp, salt, tackle, a box of freezer bags, a ukulele and a box of granola bars that I don't eat, I keep for safety if I run into a bad food situation which happened to me once. I don't like knives, clumsy and unpredictable imo, not as versatile as a variety of stone tools and can be dangerous for some tasks. Essential if you don't know how to knap, though.
