It's not really dangerous, it's rather more difficult than going with a buddy.
Just do it m8, plan some route, plan where you set a camp and go.
But tell to someone where you are heading.

So much this. Tell someone where you're going, and when you expect to be back, so if you break your leg or something and get stuck in the middle of nowhere, people will both know that you're missing, and where to look for you.

I just went for about 1.5 hours. there are more trails at the park, but i was thirsty

overall, the park was busy, lots of families and kids. the trail was a dirt trail, but wide and free of any obstructions (pic related)

google reviews, yelp and tripadvisor rated the place highly, but it was overrated tbh. felt like i just walked around for an hour

I would suggest to invest in a refillable water bottle, OP. It's risky to go /out/ without any water. Also I would suggest to pack an extra layer in case it gets chilly, and a flashlight. Have Fun!

Do a little research and just do it. Spend a few evenings researching how people do really long hikes like the Pacific Crest/Appalachian Trails and you'll quickly figure out the important stuff. Shelter, sleep system, food, and water. Those are the key things you need for a short trip out by yourself. Also make sure you can follow a map and have a pretty good idea of where you're going.

thanks

the trail i went on a few weeks ago was popular and easy. there were families with baby carriages on it.
the trail and the map was very easy to follow. there. the trail was very clear.

then there was even a side trail, which was less clear, but it had these blue rectangle markings on trees that were always visible and easy to see which way i was supposed to go. if most trails are like that, then i'll have an easy time i think

I just started doing solo overnight hikes OP. Just gotta take it slow. Make sure to tell a point of contact where you're going, when to expect you back, etc. Maybe watch some videos, print out some of the infographs if you're that concerned. You won't get lost as long as you stick to trails.

Just went solo camping last night in Daniel Boone National Forest. It was my 2nd solo trip and it was awesome, granted I have camped with friends 15+ times so I know what I am doing. I met some nice and helpful people along the way, and saw some other solo hikers around my age (20s)
