Need some recommendations.

Gf wants to go do outdoorsy stuff but she's a spoiled prissy brat. Which is cool with me whatever.

I would like some suggestions for adult summer type camps. You know where you sleep in a cabin, they feed you meals, you go on hikes and swims and do archery and shooting etc. Google turned up a few but I'm sure there are some a little more off the beaten path.

Live in California but I'm willing to head to Oregon, New Mexico, maybe Nevada if there something there.

Dont know about Cali but my home state of Kentucky has State Resort Parks. They differ from a regular state park in that they have a Resort (duh) and cabin rentals. Most of the Resorts have a couple of Restaurants, coffe shops, and little outfiiter shops. Most have Cabins for rent scattered through out the park as well.
You could spend all day hiking, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, or fishing in the park but at the end of the day head back to the resort for a hot shower and nice meal.

Ok time for some real advice. I've been drinking so you can trust me.

You're going a little overboard. I know she's prissy, but you can rough it just a litttttttle bit more than a "summer camp".

Lots of places have cabin rentals. As a tip try going to Google and searching for "cabin rentals".

You don't need a bunch of activities scheduled at some outdoor summer camp. Just get a good pair of shoes, more on this later.

Seriously. Just rent a cabin. Cook meals for you? Nah, bring food to cook yourself. Most cabins will have some kind of grill. Bring some good food to cook up, you'll add to the experience. Cabins are just like homes basically. They are warm, dry, and comfortable. They will range from being 1 room with a bed, to a 3 bedroom house. Fine one with a bathroom at least for your girl.

Now for activities. Find a state or national park. Go there. That's where your cabin can be (at least close to the park). Just get some hiking shoes/boots and hike. Pick a park that has some beautiful scenery. You'll be amazed how rewarding she will find hiking a short distance to a beautiful sight. Bring a camera, carry a backpack with water and a knife if it makes you feel more outdoorsy.

Start small. Go for 2 nights. Get there and set up one day. Hike the next day. Sleep, then leave the following day. She will get a taste without being put off by sleeping in a tent for a week without showering.

Bring some wine, she'll like that. Make her a good meal on the grill, and see a few things at a good national/state park. Kiss her under a waterfall if you have to.

Hopefully she will like it. Part of the fun of being outdoors, for me anywyas, is being a bit uncomfortable. Not showering, being dirty, sleeping in a hammock and waking up with the morning fog. She won't like that right away. Start small, and work up. She may really enjoy it.

I have a camper myself. I also have a wife who is not outdoorsy. The camper was a great way to introduce her to the outdoors. Now she likes hiking, kayaking, and being outside. She still does not enjoy any bad weather, but it's not a big deal when you have a camper.

Honestly though, it's really expensive to get started. To satisfy her needs, you will need a camper bigger than a pop-up. That means you need a more expensive trailwr, and a vehicle to tow it, which is expensive. That's not including the extra insurance registration, and maintenence, not including the cost of a weight distribution hitch, or brake controller, or all the supplies you need to camp in an RV. Sewer hoses, water hoses, leveling blocks, propane, cookware, ect ect.

I mean it's awesome, and you can DEF start with a small used RV, but if you don't even know if she will like it.... it can be expensive.

So I live in Oregon and my co-worker and I were talking about this the other day.

Apparently on the Oregon coast there are a lot of places that rent yurts that are in close proximity to somewhat populated areas. I was out for a bike ride near a place called Manzanita and apparently there are yurts about a mile away from the town (population < 500) so that she can shower and shit in comfort.

The yurts are basically just rigid tents with running water, no electricity. So it's about as close as you'll get without "glamping" which is basically worse than death.

Personally I think this is bullshit but I enjoy fucking in the outdoors so I am going to oblige her and take her there in the spring time.

Often times even a rental condo near the wilderness will hit the spot. When I was 17, I fondly remember going with one of my few good friends to the San Juan Mountains in Colorado with his family. Because it was a family trip, rather than backpack (like we planned in the proto-stages of planning) we actually stayed in a rental condo large enough for all of us. The woods were surrounding it on every side, with a large meadow and a few fishing ponds as well. Plenty of nice, easy, and gorgeous trails to see, that take you very far /out/ and get progressively harder with each mile or two. Also, being basically in the wilderness, it was very close to plenty of other outdoors activities, tons of awesome hikes of varying difficulty, scenic walks (and drives - every drive in the San Juan Mountains, even from the damn hardware store to the grocer, is scenic), and like I said, fishing. Most of these places have a place to eat, a pool and/or hottub, ours even had a little arcade type thing of mostly pinball machines and billiards. Fantastic time. Look into such lodges.
