In Europe it's often called Turkish coffee. In Indonesia I have heard it described as Kopi Indonesia or Kopi Kebun. Malaysia also goes for the patriotic names. My russian friend calls it "Normal coffee, you idiot, now hand me the tea before I punch you in the teeth".

This. I've tried a few different coffee preparations while out but cowboy coffee always gets the job done the quickest. I don't actually drink coffee in the morning, but I enjoy a cup in the early afternoon or after dinner when it's cold out.

I don't drink coffee daily, so going without isn't an issue for me. That said, I do keep a few instant single packs of coffee and creamer in my bag for the occasional cold morning / colon cleanse / trade for stuff I didn't want to carry.
