Yeah there's a whole quarry works on the hillside the other side Dinorwig village, not been up there for a good long time though. There are plenty of spots to dig in for the night if you avoid the obvious spots loved by the tourists.
Accident wise- I used to be a Marine Engineer, but got hurt on a ship, so I'm kinda early retired now - means I get to bug the wife a lot more, and only do small time stuff with the aid of a walking stick. My days of running up Tryfan are long gone, but fishing from the dock, or going for a slow walk with lots of stops and cracking out the Jetboil I can get away with lol
