Returning to the Old Days

So /out/
Does anyone else go camping/hiking with older versions of their gear? As in, instead of a flashlight, a candle lantern. Or instead of an MRE, havercakes and jerky.
I've recently started trying this out on my one nighter trips, and i am thoroughly enjoying camping like one of the old style transcontinental railroad era "gentleman surveyers" for lack of a better term.
My "old" gear list is as follows.
On my body
>wood handled broad hatchet
>light cotton undershirt, with a collar and a slightly heavier shirt on top of that
>bandanna
>cotton vest, with pockets and pocket watch
>flat brimmed hat
>cotton or wool trousers, with leather suspenders
>wool socks
>cowboy boots, or redwings
>a few trinkets hanging off my clothes, like the watch chain, a photo of the wife (b&w), a scrap of linen around my right wrist, and a few cheap silver rings
In/on the canvas backpack
>heavy wool shirt
>wool cap
>wool socks
>cotton boxer briefs
>wool blanket
>2 water skins
>1 smaller skin with cider
>6 small havercakes, 1pound of jerky, bit of flour, salt bag, pepper seeds, dry corn all wrapped in brown paper
>flintrock, steel striker, charcloth, natural tinder'
>tin lantern with a 5hour candle
>pine resin, scraps of leather, needle and sinew thread or natural fiber
>50 feet cotton rope
>small scrap of canvas as a ground cloth
>various scraps of rope/leather strips of knots and lashings
>tin mess kit
>some iron s-shaped hooks for gear/pot holders
>brass kettle and tea leaves
>sharpening stone
>leather journal with inkwell/cheap calligraphy pen, and broad pencil
highly recommend this style of camping for anyone to do for fun.
