Setting up a permanent home in a cave

No.64267 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
So, there's a cave network on my property. Looks like lava tubes. They're stable and I'm not in an earthquake prone region. I'd like to build at first a temporary camp down there and then over time move the supplies down there to construct a permanent, comfortable residence. Something like a tumbleweed home but in a cave network. The temperature is cool but comfortable, the main thing is it's drippy and I'd like the option to be in surroundings that aren't just rock walls everywhere.

Anywhere I can get advice for this? How to mount lights, what design can be built from many relatively light, man portable loads, how to store food, possible bacterial issues, etc? I don't really know what the challenges would be, beyond what I can guess at.

If the initial house goes up and there are no issues I have friends interested in having their own micro house in that cavern for a SHTF scenario, so this may become a small town.
