Visited Portland this past summer for the first time since 1995. The feeling of being in a raw, wierd city on the edge of the wilderness was completely gone. Dont get me wrong, it's an amazing tourist city now, but I couldn't imagine living there.

Hood River and the valley, on the other hand, seemed almost like the utopia I remember.
