Post Your Stoves!

/diy/ here.

I just finished my rocket stove. It looks lopsided, but it is fine in person and straightening it after the photo was simple enough.

It is made of,

5.3 food cans (free)
1.6 coat hangers (free)
8 rivets (bought those)
6 rabbit cage fasteners (bought those)
fiberglass insulation from old electric warming tray (free)

Tools used:

pipe crimpers
rivet gun
punch for the holes
tin snips
needle nosed pliers

I tested it yesterday and it worked very well, but I found I needed more airflow so I added the hanger wire you see on top. Today when I tested it I had to use damp fire starting materials so it smoked badly until things got going (boo rain). Hence the soot.

In this pic, it was nearly out of fuel since the tea was done. All in all I'm very pleased with the amount of fuel it needed to use. For 16 ounces of water it only needs 6 inch sticks in the amount that can fit in my hand and still be able to touch middle finger to thumb around them. Even then not all of that was used.

Specs:
Weight: 0.6lbs (272 grams)
Width: 4" (10.16cm)
Depth: 6.5" (16.5cm)
Height: 10" (25.4cm)

Notes:

-Can't touch the outside while it is burning fuel; I plan to make a larger version which you can touch while in use.
-Once the fire has taken off you need to almost constantly load it with new fuel.
-Combustion chamber will last longer if you put some thicker metal in it.
-Make more than one so you can evolve your plans to make it better.
