i don't UL but i do respect them. In general, they have very good practice of LNT, which is always good. Also I never see a fat UL guy, i think it is because these guys are serious about their shit, and actually do go /out/ a lot, unlike a lot of the fat preppers, milsurp guys, rambo's, hunters, tnf posers, fjallraven posers. Also they inspire and drive the industry to innovations, which at the far UL spectrum may be ridiculously expensive, or just plain ridiculous, but the better techniques and materials will seep through to more common gear which is good. The last point also has a drawback though, it gives brands like TNF the excuse to bring out pleb tier gear made out of cheap material, with the excuse that its lightweight so they can charge loads of shekels for it. But this is only a disadvantage for plebs who don't know their shit and their only source for information on gear is the commercials they get shoved up their ass while watching the Bear Grylls show. I guess it makes them pissed about UL, i guess those people are also the guys bitching in this thread.
