you know the whole Smokey the Bear Motto? only you can prevent forest fires.
well theres lotsa dumbfucks who burn entire trees for fun, killing everything inside, and around.
and ecosystems are "adapted" but if you've ever worked in an area where there was forest fire damage (like here in glorious arizona), it will be years before growth can happen, which is why it is so important to control any fires.
Not to mention any other shit people throw in the fire (literal shit, and garbage).
However, most ecosystems are very delicate now. Thanks to pollution, human expansion, destruction of habitats, it is possible multiple species are living in the same acre of land, all very precariously in their niche. You light a fire, a small one, on a bit of ground you assume to be safe, but it's really on top of a rabbit hole only a few inches below. the rabbits get cooked, and are now injured, they die sooner. this means less food, so any animals that eat rabbits now may have a bit of a problem (keeping in mind this is a hypothetical scenario where everything can go wrong, which does happen). the wood you used also contained the habitats and spores for certain kinds of animals, insects, and fungi.
the area you lit the fire on/in is now possibly a no grow zone.
if you don't clean up the ash, it looks unsightly.
don't replace the rocks, coals, etc, it looks unsightly.
if you didn't need the fire, why make a bunch of extra work for yourself in an area that often times you may not know the happenings of.
remember, this was hypothetical where the worst happens, which does happen in real life. it was written in second person for the sake of comprehension, but in no means is directed towards you.
respect the outdoors, so the next generation can do the same.
