>>67477Don't know if only mean 8-wheeler boats or what, but for 4-wheelers I prefer Suzuki ATVs.
500 cc is plenty big enough for me, but the 750 is a helluva machine. I love the sound of a v-twin, but it's twice the maintenance, so I always go with a single cylinder model.
You really can't go wrong with any of the Japanese ATV's, the quality is there with all 4 jap brands (Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Honda).
Of the American made, I wouldn't take a Polaris if you gave me one, and I would maybe buy an Arctic Cat if it were on sale. They're OK, but they're heavy as fuck and their axles have a tendency of snapping for no good reason, seen it happen too many times.
Can-Am are really good, but holy fuck are they expensive, and complicated to work on. You have to take all the front plastic off just to change the spark plug.
Kymco is a Taiwanese company that started making ATVs several years ago (don't know for sure how many) and when they first started, they sucked). But as time went on, they got better. Right now, they aren't horrible. Pretty good for a starter ATV for a kid or something that isn't going to be ridden hard or abused. A lot of them use Kawasaki engines, which are very reliable.
