What are some /out/ appoved instruments in the backcountry? i would like to get a native flute for nights around the fire. what are some bushcraft instruments that can be put together on your downtime?

They've also got dat celtic sound once you get good. I always have one strapped to my pack. Plus if you run into somebody with a guitar it becomes god tier.

Yeah, I definitely think so too , that why I reccomended it. The pan flute is the instrument you hear in haunting traditional music from the Andes of Chile and Peru. Of all the /out/ based instruments that anyone could learn, this is the one that I think would be worth the time putting in.

It's an original clarke tin whistle with a wooden fipple. The way I have it modified makes the middle register a little crackly but the lower a lot smoother. It's a lot less metallic sounding than your typical penny whistle.

Don't think you really can do much with yours except tune it by boiling the fipple and sliding it forwards and backwards to tune it. The clarke is designed differently as you'll see. It's tapered instead of straight like yours, that also affects tone.

The ramp when it comes from the factory is a harsh V shape. I straightened mine flat and then leveled the rap with the end of the wooden part of the fipple. Pic related

Yeah I'm kinda that way. I used to play piano but hated it so I swore id never learn sheet music again so I play the ocarina by ear but I don't take requests really. I just play. Nothing better Inna desert then a hammock, a flask of bourbon and an ocarina.
