Flashlight thread? I picked up this 200 lumen Coleman for $25 at Wal-Mart and I've been very pleasantly surprised. It runs on 2 AAs and has a high and low setting.

Ok guys, tell me if I'm not alone.

Am I the only one that doesn't prefer the glow of LED? I personally like the traditional luminescence bulb; the glow has a nice warm feel to it-- Like a lamp or a candle.

I mean obviously this doesn't matter when it comes to a survival situation and LED is much more cost effective and ergonomic, I just like the old traditional lighting is all

The Fenix Headband has two clamps which allow you to attach whichever flashlight you wish. I have a pair of these >>68471 in my headband, giving me a maximum of 420 lumens from two independently controlled lights.

What's the consensus on Fenix lights? I looked at the LD22 at REI but decided $60 was more than I was willing to pay and was probably more than I actually need for practical use.

The Fenix looks nice in regard to the 4 different modes, but it's not necessary if you don't want to spend too much.

I personally prefer a powerful handheld with good burn time and a weaker headlamp.

I took a pic of my headlamp rig. Because it has a central band over the top of your head, it sits on your head with gravity, like a hat. It doesn't require elastic tension around your cranium to stay up. Not only is this the brightest headlamp I've ever used, but also the most comfortable. It's light, too. I weighed it with the two lights (with batteries in each), and it comes out to 97 grams!

I'm not using Fenix lights. The headband is Fenix, but it comes with no lights. It has clamps, into which you clamp any flashlight you wish. The two lights in the headband are by Foursevens.

I need some advice.

I wanna buy a Flashlight or a headlamp as a gift for my father. It needs to be widely recognized as reliable, durable and inexpensive/cheap. I know it's kinda hard to fit all of these, but there's gotta be something out there.

And I also need one (both flashlight and headlamp) for me, just like the above, but it also gotta be lightweight/not heavy and compact, since I gotta carry it around in the woods. If it also has a mean of clipping it to something to make carrying it easier, it'd be perfect.

Any suggestions? Both for flashlights and headlamps please

this little thing is the shit. I was thinking about getting a surefire for work, but really didnt want to spend the money. So I decided to give the PD32 a try. Was a little skeptical a thought it might just be some lame Chinese attempt at a tactical like. But I have found it to be a really good and reliable flashlight.
