Electrical Lineman apprentice here, the job is /out/ as fuck if you're working highline transmission. Basically you wake up at like 5am, then get to the "show up" site, and either drive into the middle of nowhere on an offroad vehicle like an ATV, or you fly in on a little bird helicopter and you work on gigantic steel behemoths all day in the middle of the forest or mountains.
Pay is amazing, the camaraderie is surprisingly strong, and you're outside all day. If you've not scared of a little life-or-death, got a strong back and a thick skin, I'd suggest looking into linework.
