I see all sorts of stuff about them online and I'm sure there are a few out there but they're not anywhere near as common as some people believe. I have met several annoying feminists in academia who think that their PHD automatically makes everything they say fact and voids any counter argument you may present because, in their eyes, you are ignorant and uneducated. Those types are generally avoidable in my experience, unless you choose to pursue a career in academia for some reason.
There are a lot of crazy fringe groups out there that are best avoided, this isn't limited to just radical feminists. I tend to avoid people who are fanatically religious, people who try to make every conversation about politics, people who only want to talk about getting high all the time, people who base their self worth and that of others on how much money a person has, people who are incredibly smug and always look down on and talk shit about others, people who are career criminals, etc, etc. Being around any of those types of people on a daily basis can lower your quality of life and introduce a lot of unnecessary drama into your life, it isn't strictly limited to feminists.
