I've been wanting to hunt rabbits for a while now but I can't use actual guns. I can however use air rifles and I was wondering how powerful it has to be and any tips would be nice

here in australia, there are many animals you hunt just to kill them. they are called feral animals. you leave them where you shot them, and you let them rot.

they are pests, destroying farmers livelihoods and killing native flora and fauna.

You might contact your local fish & game to ask if they have recommendations about air rifles. I checked with mine about my Benjamin Trail NP because fuck all if I can find any .22LR anywhere and they said it was fine.

Yes, but in Australia rabbits are considered an invasive, introduced species. So much so that you infected them all with cancer-AIDS. In the US, they're a native animal that serves as a sort of staple. Cousin told me that they may actually be on the way out in my state due to habitat loss.

if you want to actually kill anything a spring/gas air rifle that shoots plastic a plastic bb wont kill anything. those are designed so that they dont break the skin if you shoot a person.
