>>698239for cold weather camping it only takes two duffle bags, a tank bag, and a tail bag. the side cases I put my tools, water, and food, which naturally empties as I ride, making it easier to pack for the return trip. this trip I'm going on this Monday I'm going to try to hammock camp in sub freezing temperatures so I'm bringing an extra sleeping bag, extra jackets, extra thermals, and since it may be muddy I'm bringing extra pants, socks, shirt etc. (I'm still bringing my tent just in case)
it looks like a lot on a list, but when most of it is made for backpacking, it doesn't take much space. one of the few things that is a total luxury is the "car starter". it's a big heavy battery to charge my tech when I'm not riding so that I don't use my motorcycles battery, plus it has a built in tire inflator. got it at Costco for like $70. I absolutely love it. too bad it's so heavy though.
