Hello. I recently bought pic related for car and canoe camping because it looks cooler and was way cheaper than any modern tent i could find. It's made of 100 % cotton canvas which looks to be in great shape; no faded colours and the windows are also still opaque.

According to the internet, cotton is supposed to be waterproof as long as you don't touch the inside of the tent. Is this true, or should I order some Fabsil and just soak it in silicone?

I'm looking for people who have actually owned and used a tent like this.
