Incredibly useful website. Explains everything bass related A to Z in great detail, from line differences, to knots, moon phases, water temperature, etc. A true goldmine.

Great website with lots of nice stuff, guides, incredibly useful videos, etc. They also have a section where you can see HD pictures of fishing tackle, pretty neat. Only downside: the website hasn't been updated since 2011, but the forum is alive and all.

Last Saturday, Francis Slocum lake, out side of Dallas PA. Got a bunch of 9"-10" rainbows and this 16" palomino trout. Too bad trout season isn't until the 13th. Was hoping to get some crappies but no luck.

Sorry bro, around where I live, the ice has been too shitty to fish on mostly and open season for gamefish on most bodies of water isn't until the first weekend in May. We've got a warm-up period coming in, which should get the walleye into the rivers, and there are a few of those nearby that I can fish all year. Hopefully have something to show next week

Caught 5 squid with my 5yrold last weekend on Port Phillip Bay. Tasted oh so sweet.
Will put up some shots of the tackle etc when I get a chance.

Hitting up some surf fishing down the coast in two weeks time, never done it before, so fingers crossed my research is accurate and leads to some tasty salmon.

I never understood this sentiment. Carp are really good eating fish. Yet, I've heard so many bad things about them from people that have never eaten them. Those same people tend to say the carp only eat poop and mud.

They eat algae, plants, insects, tiny crustaceans from water fleas to freshwater shrimps, insect larvae, worms, etc.

I've heard many people say the same things about catfish, yet catfish are predators high on the food chain that eat other fish. Yet, people always use the wrong bait for them.

In Texas, if you throw a *live* grass carp back in the water, you can actually be fined for it (unless the lake is being actively managed with carp at the time).

This is only because certain types of carp are invasive species.

I no longer eat any freshwater fish because nearly every body of water I frequent has tons of fish consumption advisories. I only catch and release or in the case of carp, catch and murder.

They probably just monitor it better now. Pollution has gone down in most places in north america since the 1970s because of better regulation.

Some places the contamination is natural eg from mercury ore in the bedrock, not pollution.

I'm a pretty conservative fisherman, I don't like killing fish unless we are going to eat them or they are pests, to throw that carp back in would go against my moral code, even after they are dead there eggs can be fertilized for up to 48 hours, and they can lay up to 1 million eggs. They are destroying the river system.

Will bring many more pics when I get back up on the coast, inland visiting family at the moment. This is a tiger caught back in the 80's.

And no they are not really good eating fish, maybe if you were on the verge of starvation you would eat a carp sure.. but almost every edible fish is better

Grass Carp are different from common carp.

I don't think you can transport grass carp to other bodies of water and I'm pretty sure you even need a permit to have them stocked in private ponds.
My grandpa got 3 for his 2 acre pond. After 10 years 1 is still alive and its nearing 45 pounds.

It's completely waterproof and looks like it can hold a lot of various sized planos and other accessories. I basically always fish on foot, and I gotta move a lot. I had a Redhead fanny pack which is awesome, but puts all the weight (various KGs because I tend to bring a lot of shit, "better safe than sorry" mentality) on my waist, giving me a lot of back pain. Also, it's uncomfortable when you're walking around and standing still.

All Ive ever caught so far is bluegill, bass and catfish. Its a pretty small neighborhood pond, so kinda shitty. Id love some personal recommendations on stuff for catching bass.
