How many divers we got /out/ here?

I going to try and start getting certified all the way to advanced open water and nitrox here in a couple weeks. Anyone have advice or thoughts specifically about east coast Florida?

Also general diving stories welcomed.

I dived in a swimming pool once. Got oral herpes by using gear that they hadn't cleaned off properly before my turn.

It had to have come from there, I just know it.

Yeah, it's an old research habitat from the 1970s that the project director bought from NOAA after it was obsolete and converted into a touristy hotel kinda thing. Here it is before they sunk it. Now it's 33 feet underwater, with about 20 feet of water between the roof of the structure and the surface of the lagoon it's in. Pretty shallow for one of these things, but it's the only place you can actually sleep and live in a fully submerged building with no connection to the surface except the hoses for air, hot water, etc.

There's a second much smaller station in the same lagoon called Marine Lab, used for the actual science and as a general observatory. If you pay a bit extra you have full access to both and can swim between them as you please.

I'm certified for open water which does mean much I suppose. Florida is probably a decent place to get certified. I got certified in MD over the winter and my test dives were cold as balls. I'm hoping to dive more though since I've only been a few places.

PADI Open Water.

Didn't proceed with it because the btich ex-girlfriend who put me up to it, herself being a NAUI Advanced, decided to loose total interest in diving when I actually got the C-card and spent ~$1200 in training and gear.
(And all the other local divers were rave-kiddies or alcoholic foreveralones.. )

I spent last summer as a windsurfing instructor - and the two things I couldn't control was the weather and my dick when the girls had their wetsuts on!

Even the out of shape, middle aged women looked milfy when they had them on.
