So the advent of this board finally gave me the boost i needed to finally try to built myself an alcohol stove / can stove.

I already have a MSR pocket rocket which i am quite happy with, but for certain situations an alcohol stove should have a slight wheigt and volume advantage.

So after reading around on http://zenstoves.net/ for a while and browsing youtube a bit i fgured the following:

-I cant simply follow a tutorial, because they are all for imperial cans, whereas i can only get metric
-It aint rocket science, so I just loosely follow "something"
-I will try to keep it simple and small (so none of the fancy tektoba stoves, though i'd really like to try those).

so i loosely followed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-35L_xdtQE this guide, and got pic related.

Took 1.5 minutes to prime, got my water significantly warmer than bath water, until it ran out of fuel after 12 minutes.

so essentially i fucked up…
