It wasnt as pretty as other springs but it was nice to swim in. Just a straight column of water straight down 80 feet with almost no shallows. Pretty fun. Little in the way of facilities when I went to FSU. It was empty one afternoon and I got a blowjob from my ex at the time on a picnic table. Has a big diving deck. Solid place to swim.

Sooke Potholes.

Best swimming in the summer, the water is running so it's always cold. There are also cliff jumping spots and underwater caves if you're willing to look for them.

yeah they are pretty common in my experience but they stay in weeds and stuff away from where you would even think to swim. They are pretty chill as long as you dont actively fuck with them and are actively afraid of humans unless again, you get up in their shit.

Don't remember the name of the resort, but we had a beach front pavillon for 100 Baht a night, and the whole beach to ourselves (due to rainy season and Bangkok's airport being shut down by protesters 2 weeks before).

Best snorkeling I did in my life, even got to chase a small shark around the reef.

Oh sweet... Mango Bay if I remember right. That was the only place I didn't get to on the island because I shat myself at the state of the road there (was on a moped with bald tyres and the gf sitting on the back).

Same with me on the snorkeling, even down to chasing a black tip shark about. Pic once again is related.

Yep, the roads were fucking aweful, but it was worth it. Spent 6 weeks all over Thailand, and this was the nicest spot. Sorry you didn't get to see it.

I don't know of any particularly exotic or secret swimming holes in my state. All I know of is Turner Falls which would be awesome if it wasn't always crowded.

Other than that we have hundreds of strip pits. You always hear some legend about a guy who jumped in and landed right on one of those supposed water moccasin breeding balls and died/nearly died.

Fuck that.

Don't know about swimming holes but used to stay out at a cabin right off of Lake Cumberland, and holy shit it was nice out there. I also was an idiot, forgot sunblock, and had the worst sun poisoning of my life.

The area around Fortescue Falls in Karijini National Park in Western Australia is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. The surrounding landscape is all just parched scrubland, but the interior of the gorges is tolerably cool and wet, and there's these terraced rock formations where you can lounge around sunbathing or do a little bouldering (at least until the tour guides ask you to stop... pussies).

And then you go a hundred yards farther upstream and get to Fern Pool, which is just straight-up magical. Like you get there and say "I immediately understand why this place was sacred to the Aboriginal people." It's just such a sweet little oasis in the middle of such profoundly harsh country.
