>>769898Because there's literally no reason to have campfires, and fires are destructive to the natural ecosystem. If it's going to be too cold to go then just don't go or bring better clothes or maybe a propane stove for heat. There's no reason to go when it's that cold except your personal pride.
I can maybe understand in an emergency situation, but if you left the house intentionally and it wasn't something like a plane crash then that's on you to have a signaling device in case of emergency like a satellite phone.
The reason specifically that the fires are so bad, in addition to them having the chance to spread, is that there are millions of dendrivores that eat the decaying wood and fungus like lousce and millipeades and then from there the predators that eat then like centipeades and wasps, many other dendrivites. When you burn the wood it destroys the matter and the energy it contains that they depend on. Most of the energy and nutrients is converted into smoke and blows away in this unusable entropic form.
