I'm assuming you are looking for a spinning combo, right?
For my money, I would say get a Pflueger President combo. They will have them at Bass Pro or Cabela's on a decent store brand rod for around $80-$90. Or buy the reel alone for $50-$60 and get whatever rod you want. But those reels will last for years and years. Highly reccommended to me and I now own 2 and have nothing bad to say.
The Pflueger Trion reels are a little cheaper and seem nice as well. I know one of our Ausfag anons says he and a bunch of his friends swear by them. They may come on a Fenwick rod too which is good.
