I'm heading out to Lower Otay in San Diego this weekend. Haven't been since late Feb when it was still cold as balls and you were lucky to get 2 or 3 dinks on a drop shot. Now apparently the action is hot as balls on Jigs and Texas rigs.

tl;dr, I feel like talking about Bass Fishing, so BASS FISHING GENERAL GUISE.

I know I've dumped this picture before but its a bass I got a few Weeks ago on a purple spinner.

Was also catching fish by the ass ton(literal measurement) on a Tex rig with red beads.

I haven't gotten to go fishing much this year because of fucking life but I think its going to need to happen, fuck you life I do what I want!

Slammed this sucker on a Carolina rigged Margarita Mutilator at Lower Otay. He's not very big, but it's my first (and so far, only) fish of the year. Was during a tournament, too. We weren't apart of it, which probably pissed off everyone who was as we heard everyone was having trouble limiting out.

Jigs are pretty fun to use I've had allot of lick with them in the past throwing a crawfishy on it with floating claws (brand doesn't come to mind)

Something about different types of line(mono vs flauro vs braided) what time of day/season certain lures might work better (like jigs in spring or match the hatch type of talk)

Also a link on how to use a bait caster and spinner reel, can't tell you how many times I've seen people fighting to hold a spinner upside down or have a bait caster set to free spin then wonder why they constantly have a birds nest

Treat them as a spinnerbait.

If you are fishing shallow water or if you think the blades are spooking skittish fish then throw a swim jig instead.

With my spinning rods one of my favourites is a good side-arm or back-handed cast. With practice you can learn to skip lures just like skipping stones. It works great for getting weedless rigged bait (like artificial grubs) under branches and brush that might be overhanging the water. The skipping itself helps to trigger strikes as well, looking a lot like a frog or bait-fish jumping. You can skip stuff that isn't weedless but you're chancing snags, or if you're skipping something like a jig-spinner it might get jumbled up and not spin properly on the retrieve.
