Making shelter?

I want to start going outdoors into the woods and making my own little camp/shelter but I'm not sure how to go about doing it

Tips for beginner shelter makers?

Everyone should learn the basics of a tarp shelter. Then get yourself a tent, throw it away, and get a hammock.

pile sticks, gather dead plant matter with your blanket (protip: shelter fetching is not about making waterproof surface, it is about absorbance)
pic related, my 1 day work shelter, only tool used was blanket, no knife, no hatchet, no string

but if you need making to protect from cold make the smaller one you can fit, warmer than any sleeping bag

Just look at them for a few seconds and think about the purpose of the tarps pitch. A tarp is meant to protect you from the wind and rain. Different pitches do so differently. Pretty much you want to see how high up the tarp is pitched & where, if any, the openings are. A rule of thumb is any tarp that is low to the ground with arodynamic angles is good in windy weather. Anything that is pitched high up and somewhat sprawled out is good for light to moderate rains with no wind.

http://sectionhiker.com/square-tarp-pitches/ - there's some pretty good detail on how to do different pitches here. "Bivy Bag" is my personal preference.

but how do you protect yourself from ticks and spiders? this looks like as dangerous as a ghillie suit

Or do you mean from gathering ticks/spiders and putting them on your shelter when gathering? Cause I woudl just keep an eye out for them as best I could.

Sorry if I led you to misunderstanding. English is not my first language. I meant maybe you use some nets or could recommend working poisons/repellents. Sometimes we build shelters at airsoft games and I am also planning to make a ghillie suit, but the number of ticks with desease in the outskirts of my town is scary

all you can do is don't camp where you know ticks are common (near waterways, in tall dry grass, on biome borders), some people use repellents
if you have poisonous spiders you probably are in hot climate and don't need debris shelter in a first place

its hot only at summer day, it can be quite cold outside with cold wind right after sunset, both in the mountains and steppe. I was just hoping that I could use shelters for observation points from natural materials as they are well camouflaged from the players from the other team, but the last guy that did that - got 2 ticks on him

Tipis are great for long term camping, but can be difficult to set up and are expensive. Your other option is a wall tent but being large and made of canvas like the tipi, it is also difficult to set up and expensive. Beckel Canvas makes excellent wall tents.

If you don't own the property don't go around playing woodsman and chop a bunch of shit down. Camp in areas already impacted by camping, the best campsites are often well used. If you do own the property than feel free to do whatever you like, I would recommend a semi permanent lean to and fire pit set up for cooking.

For weekend/car camping look at a large dome tent, easy to set up and a quality tent can be had for under $200.

I live in europe, was waling my dog 2 weeks ago (sub freezing temperatures most of the day, patches of snow) and still he bring 3 ticks home, but they didn't make it since we use repellents on him
if you live in ticks infested region there is really no help
learn to avoid them, pick them from your clothes often and pray for the best
