Sup, /out/, I've got a hypothetical question for yall.

Would you rather be stranded in the middle of Antarctica or the Sahara desert? No supplies outside of shirt, pants, hat, and a sweater for Antarctica.

I'd choose the Sahara, mainly because it's not nearly as depopulated as most people think. But even if that weren't the case, you could at least survive a day or two if you travel by night and take siestas. In Antarctica you could easily be dead the first night.
And at least you could die looking at stuff like this.

There's a Russian research station in the geometric center of Antarctica and an American one at the South Pole. So for any common definition of "middle", I'd choose Antarctica and hope to god I don't land in white-out conditions.

A wool sweater is good down to -20° (as in: you don't die as long as you're awake and mobile), so it makes a huge difference.

This made me think of that really sad movie about the little boy robot. He thought he was real, and was the first and only robot to ever be built with the capacity for love, or at least to mimic love. He got thrown out because he scared his parents or some shit and traveled around the world trying to find them. Ended up living to the end of the world, then being buried in the bottom of an ocean for thousands of years until aliens found him and probed his memory or some shit. It was a weird movie but I loved it and it's one of the few movies I tear'd up at.
That and pretty much any movie where will smith was in a lead role that wasn't a comedy
