>>803605There is all sorts of /out/ stuff in the SW part of the state. Start with a visit to the Very Large Array. From there, you can take 52 south, and, if you're willing to get off of the beaten path, you will find shit that hardly anybody knows about that is cool like fuck. From 52, you can head on down into Winston, explore the Chloride area, go into the Black Range or even go into the San Mateo mountains. You won't run into very many people in the San Mateos. Also, look up Montecello (sp?) canyon. I've been meaning to get there. It's cool like fuck.
Another area to explore is Ladrone Peak. There are no man made trails on that mountain, and it is rugged. There are also caves that you can find if you're in decent shape. On the west side of the mountain, if you take a left (South) at a sign that tells you how far Riley is, you can get to a badass canyon with walls straight up and down that keeps on getting deeper and wider as you go along. There is all sorts of cool shit in that entire area.
