Small list of crap to make it moar fun:
Dually 1 ton axles, 60/14b. Dually hubs retained up front, 6" spacers installed on the rear axle. Makes the wheel track with the HMMWV rims and their crazy offset be basically perfectly equal. Also gives runflats which have proven useful in the past. Tires are cheap and easy to find.
also has vhf/uhf radio capability, 700w inverter for what minimal AC electronics I have, truck and accessories are on separate circuits for power (2 batteries for truck, 1 battery for accessories) so if I sit and geek out on the radio or use power or whatnot, I don't strand myself.
CUCV's also have the wonderful feature that if you pull the back seat out, pelican cases fit nicely on the floor forward of the "bed" and you can fit a fullsize futon mattress in there. Tada, easy mode RV.
Contemplating stringing some cables on the 4 corners of the topper and making some insulated privacy curtains with a 4 snap insulated roof to make things even better for sleeping in it.
Just easier to be able to pull off if you're on a long jaunt offroading and go straight to bed, versus having to set up a tent trailer or tent or all the other jazz.
Here, have a picture of it prior to the HMMWV tires, with it's trailer concocted out of a former M1008 that had a horrid front end.
