Simple question, do you bring a firearm with you when you're innawoods? If not, do you approve of others doing so?

I know a lot of people disapprove of guns on the AT and other popular trails, but I'll still bring my pistol with me when I eventually do it. As the saying goes, "its better to have it and not need it" than, well, the opposite. Especially since you can bump into mountain lions/predators on the CDT and places out west.
